received from clients in the past. The names have been omitted
in order to protect the confidentiality of the clients as well
as to comply with Law Society of Upper Canada.
This client was charged with
Manslaughter. Following a three week jury trial the client was
acquitted of all charges, the jury came back after less than 3
hours of deliberation.
I just wanted to say thank you for bringing out the
truth in my little brothers court proceedings. I was
extremely impressed with your litigation style and the
manner in which you handled the case. It is nice to have
****** back with us and I see a real promising future
for him.
Client charged with two separate incidents of possession of
marijuana. After being offered diversion on the first charge
client was re-arrested and original diversion cancelled. Through
negotiation with crown and the provision of positive information
about the client crown agreed to give the client another chance
at diversion but this time for both charges.
"Brendan,
Thanks for the work on *****s behalf, I appreciate it very
much. I'm not sure ***** understands how lucky he was to avoid
two convictions.
The Crown said that after carefully reviewing the files he
had "reluctantly" agreed to alternative sanctions and the judge,
clearly surprised, confirmed---"on both charges?" The judge then
spoke directly to ***** telling him that never before had he
seen such lenient treatment in such circumstances."
Client charged with numerous historical charges with a
history of mental health issues. Client was finally discharged
absolutely after submissions made to the court and crown.
"I just wanted to thank you very much for your considerate
assistance in drawing this matter at long last to a close for
Mr. *****.
You went above and beyond the call of duty and I am
certain that Mr. ***** appreciates your efforts as much as I do.
Many thanks.
Yours very truly
Stewart Esten

Just a short note to thank you for all of the hard work and
effort you put into representing ****** in court. ****** and I
are very pleased with the outcome of the trial and know that it
was all because of your expertise. It has been a pleasure
dealing with you over these last few months. I must say, it was
an enlightening experience, hopefully one that I will not have
to revisit.
Once again, thank you very much!!!

the father of her child involving allegations of drug and
physical abuse. Following numerous court appearances the client
received sole custody of her child as well as restraining order
against the abusive father.
"Thank you so very much for
everything that you are helping me with. Most of all Thank you
for your kindness. It is people like you who make a difference
in the world, it is people like you I admire everyday. It takes
courage and a kind heart to do what you do everyday. It's people
like you I'll always remember & be grateful to. So when people
say there's no angels it's not true, because it is people like
you and your wife who show the true meaning of what angels are.
they guide and protect us and that's what you do everyday." |
